Digital Phoropter
Our office uses the newest diagnostic state of art. Instead of using the well known version of manual phoropter, we are up to date with technology and provide eye examination with this new piece of digital equipment. Come and see us to see what differences it can do to achieve clearer 20/20 vision.
Comprehensive Eye Exam & Children Exam
During a comprehensive eye exam a series of tests and procedures are performed to assess your vision as well as the overall health of your eyes. As health care professionals we recommend that all people should have periodic and thorough eye examinations as part of their routine primary care, especially since many eye diseases are asymptomatic.
Potentially treatable blinding eye diseases, ocular manifestations of systemic disease, or signs of tumors and other anomalies of the brain may be detected by having a regular comprehensive eye exam.
We proud to say that we are kids friendly office. Dr. Cindy had seen children as young as 6 months old. So don't hesitate to give us a call and bring your children in to get their eyes check. There's no age that's too young and there are many ways to learn about your child's vision rather than having them being able to read off the chart. :)
Auto-Refractor & Keratometer
This equipment will briefly give an estimate of your prescription. It can aid doctor to better assist you by giving the curvature of your cornea. This will greatly benefit all patients, especially high cylinder astigmatism and specialty corneas such as keratoconus.
Specialty Contact Lens
Do you wear contact lenses? or maybe you are thinking about trying them. Dr. Nguyen specialize in contact lens fitting and management. We provide on-site teaching and carry a large inventory of lenses. We offer disposable contact lenses for all types of modalities.
Flexible & continuous wear lenses
Bifocal or Multi-focal lenses
Daily Disposable Lenses
Toric Contact lenses for Astigmatism
Scleral contact lenses for corneal abnormalities
Rigid Gas Permeable Contact Lenses
Visual Field Testing
Humphrey Visual Field tests your central and peripheral vision and provide in-depth analysis of your eyes. It is straightforward test, painless, and does not involve any eye drops. From the test results, our optometrists are able to diagnose, evaluate and monitor ocular diseases as well as neurological diseases such as glaucoma, traumatic brain injury, optic nerve atrophy, etc.
Glaucoma Diagnosis & Management
Dr. Nguyen is a board certified glaucoma treatment & management in the state of California. Glaucoma is a painless, symptomless eye disease that will cause you to lose sight permanently starting peripheral vision to central. With the highest technologies offer at Eye Focus Optometry, we can help you early diagnosis and treat glaucoma.
Retinal Photography
YOUR EYE IS THE WINDOW TO YOUR HEALTH
A retinal photo takes a quick painless digital image of your retina, the tissue allowing you to see. It is a great tool in early detection of multiple ocular and systemic diseases.
FIVE REASONS TO GET A RETINAL PHOTO:
1) Skip dilation: retinal photo can view >70% of the fundus and can detect >90% of eye diseases. It can replace annual dilation & painful symptoms
2) Baseline findings for all healthy patients
3) Early detection of diseases of diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, age related macular degeneration, glaucoma, retinal holes/tears, veins/arteries occlusions, or other optic nerve abnormalities for early treatment.
4) It's mandatory for all patients who has diabetes, on blood thinner, or have certain systemic or eye conditions. For patient's safety, retinal photo must be taken and monitor every year.
5) It's cool! Who doesn't want to know how their eyes look like, right?
OCT Ultrasound Scan
OCT is a non-invasive high definition imaging test. It uses light waves to take cross-section pictures of your retina that we previously were unable to see by conventional means. This technology has revolutionized the diagnosis and treatment of many eye diseases including Glaucoma and Macular disease. We are proud to be one of the few eye care professionals in the area to provide the most advanced technology to our patients.
Medical Eye Health Examination
OCT scan aids eye health examination where you will never miss an eye diseases. It can scan the macula & optic nerve and allow Dr. to diagnosis and treat eye conditions early. Other eye conditions are being examine and treated at our office includes red eye infections, foreign body removal, contact lenses over wear ulcer, diabetic and systemic retinopathy, glaucoma, macular degeneration, etc.
Corneal Topographer
Corneal topography is a computer assisted diagnostic tool that creates a three-dimensional map of the surface curvature of the cornea. Corneal topography produces a detailed, visual description of the shape and power of the cornea. It provides fine details regarding the condition of the corneal surface such as keratoconus, high irregular astigmatism, etc. These details are used to diagnose, monitor, and treat eye diseases as well as fitting contact lenses and for laser surgery.
Keratoconus & Other Eye Diseases CL fit
With corneal topographer in office, we are able to treat your cornea conditions using varies contact lens types that mold to your exact cornea surface.
Corneal Tonometer: I-Care IC100
GOOD NEWS, NO MORE PUFF OF AIR!!! IC 100 is one of the newest, portable, advance eye pressure measurement technology on the market. It does not require sterilization or anesthesia. It provides hassle free, painless, fearless, and accurate intraocular eye pressure (IOP) screening.
Goldmann Tonometer
Goldmann tonometry has been the gold standard in tonometry for many decades. Dr. Nguyen provide Goldman applanation method on all suspect patient base on our screening results. It required direct contact of tonometer head placed against the cornea. The opposing forces of corneal rigidity and the tear film are roughly approximate and cancel each other out allowing the pressure in the eye to be determined from the force applied.
Corneal Pachymeter
Corneal pachymetry is an ultrasound measuring the thickness of the cornea. A pachymeter is a medical device used to measure the thickness of the eye's cornea.
Most eye pressure measurement technique revolve around the direct/indirect force against the cornea. If cornea thickness is too thick or too thin, it can provide inaccurate result.
Why is it important?
Your intraocular eye pressure (IOP) is important to determining your risk for glaucoma. Corneal thickness is an important factor in accurately diagnosing eye pressure.
Thin corneas can lead to false low-pressure readings. Thick corneas can lead to false high-pressure readings. You’ll get this test just once to create a baseline for comparison with future readings.
